2010 HR Calendar - OSHA 300A Reports
February 1st of each year marks the annual posting requirement for employer illness and injury summary reports (CAL-OSHA Form 300A). Most employers are required to post this notice for the full months of February, March and April of each year.
The report lists the total number of job related illnesses and injuries that occurred in 2009. Even if an employer had no reportable illnesses or injuries in 2009, the report must be posted indicating the number of injuries and illnesses with zeros.
This report is part of an annual HR calendar that we suggest be compiled by every employer. This calendar highlights the important deadlines, posting dates and other HR related events throughout the year so that a deadline can never escape unnoticed.
For the convenience of our clients and readers, we have attached a sample HR calendar to use as a model.
We also advise employers in certain industries to consider conducting pre-start date physicals, and to coordinate their activities with a local healthcare provider so that workplace injuries can be prevented and addressed effectively at the earliest possible point.
