Model New Hire Process Map
Periodically, we provide model documents developed in the course of our client interactions to Bulletin subscribers. This month’s model is a New Hire Process Map.
WEA Consulting has frequently found a conceptual breakdown regarding orientation and new hire paperwork. Research indicates that employees often experience a dip in morale when communications and orientation do not meet their expectations. All the management time, recruiting fees and other efforts involved in hiring can be lost if a new hire is not made to feel “part of the family” as soon as possible.
Administratively, there must be consistency in new hire paperwork and it must find its way to the appropriate files and departments so that employees are smoothly transitioned to payroll and benefits. This Process Map can be a useful training tool to make sure that all the key players are on the same page and understand their roles in making this important process smooth and successful.
We recommend that Bulletin readers present this process map at an internal meeting to determine if each group knows their respective role, and if not, customize the map to fit their needs.
